Bessie Mabel Rowser While at her home, Miss Bessie Mabel Rowser had an acute attach of appendicitis on the afternoon of the 7th of September. Dr. George Weyler was called in to the case during the evening, and stated it was necessary to operate on her immediately which was done at the L.D.S. Hospital. The best medical and surgical skill was given her. Her mother was by her side during the entire time she was sick, yet with all that could be done for her, aperitonitis set in and she passed away peacefully on September 14, 1916, just one week from the time she took sick. Miss Rowser was a beautiful girl. She was 16 years old, born August 21, 1900 at Doyle Colorado. Her death was a terrible shock to the entire family and friends. She had a sweet disposition which won her many friends. Mr. I. W. Rowser, her father was notified, and arrived in time to see his daughter before she died. Mrs. Bessie Carroll Rowser, formerly Miss Bessie Carroll of Doyle Colorado, who is now a resident of Salt Lake City Utah, is her mother. She is survived by two brothers, Charles Rowser of Tipton, Iowa, age 14 and Samuel F. Rowser are 11 of Sexton, Penn. Funeral services were conducted at their home on the corner of Commonwealth Avenue and 5th East Street. Services were opened by song, “Nearer My God To Thee”, by the Forest Dole Quartet, Prayer by Elder Andrew C. Petersen, Song. “O My Father” by the Forest Dale Quartet, Sermon Elder B. S. Young, Solo, “Farewell To Thee" by Miss Young, Sermon by Elder James E. Hall, Duet, "Sometime Somewhere" by sisters Iretta W. Jackson, Mabel E. Torkelson, encouraging talk by Bishop Elias Woodruff of the Forest Dale Ward, benediction by Bishop Elias Woodruff. The deceased and the casket was beautifully arranged in white and was covered with numerous floral offerings. The Brotherhood of American Yeomen furnished six lady pall bearers dressed in white.
